Ray Jordan’s Top 100 Reds 2015

Again Hamelin Bay’s red wines have performed well in Ray Jordan’s annual  tasting of Australian red wines. In the West Australian’s “Fresh” lift out of 23rd July, Hamelin Bay scooped two of the prestigious positions in Ray’s “Top 100 Reds”.

This is what Ray had to say about our wines:

Hamelin Bay Shiraz 2010

” Remarkable how this wine has evolved since first tasted. It’s right in the groove now. Intense perfume on the nose with a mix of mulberry and vanillin oak plus a liberal sprinkle of spices. The palate is soft and generous, with a plush tannin-and-oak combo working a treat with the seductively rich and flavoursome fruit. 94/100″

Hamelin Bay Rampant Red 2012

“A consistently very good blend of shiraz cabernet and merlot from one of the best small producers in Margaret River. Fruity and well-rounded, with a velvety smooth palate texture delivering a stack of goodies. 89/100″

5 Stars, 93 Points for 2014 Sauvignon Blanc: James Halliday’s Feb/March 2015 Wine Companion Magazine

Fully reflects the cool climate of Karridale in the southernmost part of Margaret River; the bouquet is fragrant, with some wild herb/wild flower aromas, the palate adding lemon to the herbal base, leaving the finish crisp and clear.
