2004 Rampant Red

The 2004 vintage was an exceptional year for the Rampant Red. Shiraz, Cabernet, Merlot (45%, 35%, 20%).

    Aromas of chocolate cake and cassis resonate on a sloid backing of fresh leather. Hints of dried herbs and vanillin char add complexity to the nose.

    The palate has excellent mid-palate sweetness and a long lingering length of flavour. It shows beautiful integration with fine rustic tannins.

    Warm vintage -- comparable to 1999 and 2001.
  • Vinification:

    Stainless steel static fermenters, left on skins post ferment up to 20 days.

    Matured in French oak for 15 months.

    Enjoy with an Australian BBQ or Sunday roast.
