2001 Shiraz

Give this wine plenty of air and its true character will be revealed. The palate has amazing depth and intensity, with a long lingering finish.

    Vintage 2001 has brilliant clarity with a dense ruby red centre and a pink purple hue.

  • Bouquet:

    The nose displays savoury gamey fruits, plum skin, spicy oak and green peppercorns.

  • Palate:

    The palate is full bodied showing excellent depth, intensity and length with fine supple tannins. Fine velvety tannins and an attractive pepperiness complete the palate, ensuring the wine will reach full potential in two to three years but continue to evolve for at least ten years.

    Fermented in stainless steel static fermenters, with half barrel fermented to finish and half left on skins for two weeks post fermentation.

    100% barrel aged with 60% new and one year old French

  • Serving Suggestion:

    Enjoy with roast ostrich, lamb shanks or a rich beef casserole.
