3 July 2009 – Hamelin Bay 2007 Chardonnay awarded trophy for best Chardonnay

At a gala dinner held at the Marriott Hotel in Sydney on Friday 3rd July 2009, Chairman of Judging Huon Hooke announced the winners of 18 top of class trophys for individual wines.

The Max Lake Memorial Trophy for best Chardonnay was awarded to Hamelin Bay Wines 2007 Chardonnay.

Other awards included:

Blind River Pinot Noir 2007 has been awarded the Dan Murphy’s trophy for Best Wine of Show. The shiraz trophy went to Harewood Estate of the Great Southern Region in Western Australia. The Semillon trophy to Saddler’s Creek in the Hunter; the Riesling trophy to Eden Springs in the Barossa; White Blend to Swish Wines and the Cabernet trophy to Protero in the Adelaide Hills. The Chris Killeen Memorial trophy went to Stanton and Killeen for their Grand Muscat who also picked up the Estate Grown and Produced trophy.
